We are pleased to welcome you to the AHORN Hotel Am Fichtelberg for EMPSEB 31, taking place from 8 to 12 June, 2026 in the scenic town of Oberwiesenthal. Located in the Ore Mountains (Erzgebirge), Oberwiesenthal is a year-round destination for summer and winter activities and an inspiring setting for scientific exchange.

The hotel offers professional conference facilities alongside leisure amenities, including free access to the indoor pool, gym, cinema and various activities, with a sauna available at an additional cost. At the hotel, you'll be accommodated in a shared room with a fellow participant. Catering includes buffet breakfast and dinner, a two-course lunch and morning and afternoon coffee breaks. Two spacious halls host parallel EMPSEB 31 sessions, complemented by comfortable rooms and scenic mountain views ideal for networking and discussion.

Conference shuttle buses
For participants’ convenience, shuttle buses will be arranged at the beginning and end of the conference. This service is included in your registration fee and connects directly to the venue in Oberwiesenthal. Maximum capacity is 49 people per bus. Shuttle seats can be reserved in the registration form!

- Monday, June 8: between 09:00-11:00 from Prague and Leipzig

Travel by public transport
The nearest larger city to Oberwiesenthal is Chemnitz, Germany (approx. 1 hour by train from Leipzig or Dresden).

From Chemnitz to Oberwiesenthal:
Bus 210: Chemnitz Central Station to Annaberg-Buchholz (final stop)
Bus 411 (same stop): Annaberg-Buchholz to Kurort Oberwiesenthal

From there, either:
- ~13-minute walk to the venue, or
- take Bus A (Hotel Am Fichtelberg) or 414 (Rittersgrün, Schule)
→ exit at Kurort Oberwiesenthal, Hotel Am Fichtelberg (directly at the venue)

Total travel time from Chemnitz: approximately 2 hours. For international travellers, best connections are via Leipzig/Halle Airport (LEJ) or Prague Airport (PRG). From there, you can either use the conference shuttle or travel via Leipzig/Dresden to Chemnitz and continue by bus.
