Located in the Ore Mountains (Erzgebirge), Oberwiesenthal—Germany’s highest town—is a year-round destination for summer and winter activities and an inspiring setting for scientific exchange.

The hotel offers professional conference facilities alongside leisure amenities, including free access to the indoor pool, gym, cinema, and various activities, with a sauna available at an additional cost. At the hotel, you'll be accommodated in a shared twin-bed room with a fellow participant.

Catering includes buffet breakfast and dinner, a two-course lunch, and morning and afternoon coffee breaks. Two spacious halls host parallel EMPSEB 31 sessions, complemented by comfortable rooms and scenic mountain views ideal for networking and discussion.

How do I get there?
Chemnitz, Germany is the nearest big city to Oberwiesenthal (easily reachable via 1-hour trains from Dresden and Leipzig).

Bus 210: Chemnitz Central Station to Annaberg-Buchholz (last stop)
Bus 411 (at same stop): Annaberg-Buchholz to Kurort Oberwiesenthal.

You're already in the town! A 13 minute walk from your stop or take Bus A (Kurort Oberweisent, Hotel Am Fichtelberg) / Bus 414 (Rittersgrün, Schule) from the same stop and get off directly at the venue (Kurort Oberwiesent, Hotel Am Fichtelberg) in 5 minutes!) and you'll be here!
This trip (Chemnitz to the venue) would take you a little over 2 hours to complete. International fliers, your trip would need to begin from Dresden/Leipzig Airports, to their respective central stations, and then to Chemnitz. Train rides from closer (say, Prague) by are best connected first to Dresden or Leipzig central stations again, then transfer for the train to Chemnitz.

For participants’ convenience, shuttle buses will be arranged to and from Leipzig Main Station (Leipzig Hbf), Leipzig/Halle Airport (LEJ), Prague Main Station, and Prague Václav Havel Airport (PRG), at the end and start of the meeting, respectively. This service starts and ends at the venue.
